- Q: Pre-Existing Conditions?
- A: Definition varies amongst insurance companies and dependent on insurance products you purchase. Generally, pre-existing condition is defined as an injury, illness, sickness, disease, or other physical, medical, mental or nervous conditions, disorder or ailment that with reasonable medical certainty, existed at the time of application or at any time defined years in the plan prior to the effective date of the insurance, whether or not previously manifested or symptomatic, diagnosed, treated, or disclosed prior to the effective date, including any subsequent, chronic or recurring complications or consequences related thereto or arising there from. Please refer to the plan brochure for specific definition of pre-existing conditions.
Examples.
1. My parents are visiting USA my father had a by-pass surgery 5 years he is doing fine and takes his medications regularly. If he gets a heart attack, will the insurance plan cover his expenses related to heart? Ans. NO Even though the surgery was 5 years ago but the fact that they see a physician and have ongoing medications that makes it a pre-existing condition.
2. My Mother is Diabetic, and she may need more supply of medications, will the plan cover the supplies? Ans. No This is a pre-existing condition.
3. I am willing to pay higher premium and have the pre-existing conditions covered can that be done? Ans. No
4. If you are planning to invite parents with pre-existing conditions what solutions do I have? Ans. None. If they do visit and something happens due to Pre-Existing conditions, you would have to bare the medical cost.
5. Pregnancy is generally not covered under most of the plans. However, there are certain plans that do have maternity coverage provided you have had the plan for one year, and conception is after a year. Call us at 1-800-846-6669 so that we can send you a brochure on these plans.

- Q: Why buy Visitors Insurance if Pre-Existing conditions are not covered?
- A: Although Pre-Existing conditions are not covered, the plan would cover other conditions that are not pre-existing or unrelated to pre-existing conditions. Things like accidents, or sickness unrelated to the pre-existing condition would be covered.
Insurance companies work on the risk basis and probability of paying claims. When insurance companies know for sure they will have to pay the claims after the person buys the insurance, they do not want to insure those conditions because that is a clear loss of money for them.

- Q: What is the difference between Basic coverage and Comprehensive coverage plans
?
- A: Basic Coverage plans (Inbound USA and Visit Care Plans) are low cost however they have very basic defined coverage. Say if you choose a $50,000 coverage this does not mean that you have coverage for Max of $50,000. For example, if there is a need for say surgery unrelated to pre-existing condition and you have the Visit Care plan and choose a $50,000 coverage plan the plan would only pay a Max. $3300 per surgery and not Upto $50,000. Make sure you read the plan brochure for each of these plans to determine the maximum dollar amount paid.
Comprehensive Coverage Plans Most of the other plans offered are comprehensive coverage plans. They tend to be more expensive than the basic plans, but also have higher dollar limits. This is how they would work.
Say you choose a $100,000 plan with $1000 deductible and 80/20 upto $5000 plan. You would be responsible for the first $1000 there after the Insurance would pay 80% and you would still be responsible for 20% of the next $5000 bill. After that, the insurance company would cover 100% upto $100,000 maximum that you chose.

- Q: How do I File for a Claim
?
- A: - If you need to use a medical facility you basically present your insurance card to the providers. They would make a copy of the card and also call the insurance company to varify coverage. Your card would have a toll-free number and an address where the provider can file the claim.
- If you have a deductible, usually its recommended that you wait to pay the deductible until you receive a medical bill from the provider which would indicate your dues.
- If the facility does not accept the insurance card or is not part of the network fill the claim form that you received from the insurance company at the time you received your policy and cards. These forms can also be downloaded from our web site. Simply follow the instructions in the claim form. Please include all the itemized bills from the providers alone with the claim form.
All claims are to be submitted to the Insurance company and not the agent. If you have any questions, you can call the toll free number on your card anytime 24/7.
Due to HIPAA regulations, the insurance company will not release any information about a claim to the agent. However, if your questions or concerns are not answered, please feel free to call us.
